In this project, while freelancing at a motion graphics firm, the team and I were not told who we were designing for but we were given the task to design a futuristic entertainment system that floated in mid air. This took place in 2012.
I thought an immersive reality where after wearing some type of glasses, contacts, or even maybe a helmet with sensors that can pick up on brain activity, the user would have full control of the UI that’s floating around him or her. The sky was the limit. I wanted to take advantage of the pieces moving forward to be focused and the rest of the UI being blurred out. The user will be able to dismiss options and bring up others by a swipe of their hand or by using their brain nerves. Little did we know that we were working for a tech company in the Silicon Valley that was developing something similar to the concept of the Google Glass and the Microsoft Holo Lens.
